Wednesday’s at Grace
We come together to begin our Lenten journey every Wednesday evening. Wednesday, March 1 is Ash Wednesday. The 7:00pm service will include ashes and communion. The following Wednesday’s will begin with a simple soup and bread potluck held at 6:00pm followed by an intergenerational study at 6:30pm, children’s choir at 6:45pm and worship with Holy Communion at 7:30pm.
The Bible Study is “He Chose the Nails” by Max Lucado.
Come join us in fellowship and worship during this Lenten season.
The Scholarship committee is appointed by the Vice President after the first of the year and consists of 3 to 5 people.. Any senior in high school can apply. After the applications are turned in the group will review and then schedule each applicant for an interview. As part of the interview, they are asked their goals and what they want for their future.
Each applicant will be notified and the scholarship will be awarded around the time of graduation. So if you are called and asked to serve on the committee, please say yes, it is a way to get to know the youth of the congregation.
Pocket Prayer Quilts..
are available in the container in the Narthex so you can easily pickup one and be reminded of what Christ has done for you. Take one to share with someone this week so they too can know what Christ has done for them. They are supplied by The Piecemakers of Grace.
God's Global Barnyard -
Our Witness and Mission project for Lent is to support the ELCA barnyard project. Your donation will help furnish animals, tools, and seed to families that need a hand up. Pray daily, as you add your donation, that your gift will be received and shared.
Make a decision as to how you wish your donation to be used and circle that picture on the barn. The barns will be collected on April 23rd.
Please consider volunteering to be a worship worker, communion bread baker, lector, communion minister, acolyte, or altar guild
worker. The sign-up sheets are on the tables in the narthex or leave a note in the church office. Please consider one of these tasks to serve our Lord.
The quilt making is nearing completion. We are asking for donations of money to help Lutheran World Relief ship the quilts to needy families all over the world later this year. There is a can in the Narthex for the donations. If you have any questions, please see Nancy Pries.
Campbell Soup Labels...
Attention savers of Campbell's labels: The labels marked for Education is coming to an end. They quit putting the labels on their products beginning August 1, 2016. However the date they will stop accepting the labels will be determined by when the final product now showing the label receives it's new label without the special feature. Remove the code from the label and turn them in as soon as possible to take advantage of the program before it concludes.
LET"S GO TO THE MOVIES!
The Board of Congregational Life is planning a trip to see the movie, “The Shack” on Sunday, March 19th at 12:30pm at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, starring Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer and Tim McGraw.
There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex with further details. We will carpool from church, please indicate if you are interested in going. If you can drive, please indicate how many extra passengers you can take.
